But Whether Men Do: The Movie!

(Take a look at the date this was posted before reading further, will you?)

After a long period of negotiations, I'm pleased to announce that I've sold the movie rights to "But Whether Men Do", and the film is already entering pre-production!

Producers have been looking through my novel very carefully to determine what would make a film adaptation a surefire blockbuster. Naturally, this means a few creative liberties will be made.

Rabid fans of my writing might be concerned that this movie will be disrespectful to the original work. However, I can personally assure all of you that this upcoming picture fits my interests perfectly. To sum up the reasons why in a single sentence:

"I've been given a huge amount of money for the movie rights."

Luckily for those of you who would like a little more information, I have the official synopsis right here.

From visionary director Michael Bay (TRANSFORMERS, ARMAGEDDON) comes the spine-tingling summer blockbuster of the decade, "BUT WHETHER MEN DO", based on the book by R. Anthony Mahon.

Our film begins when the insane scientist Richard Danson (Jack Black) unveils his newest invention: The SHEM, a robotic killing machine with seven chainsaws inside its chest. This seemingly innocent invention to save mankind goes horribly wrong. The SHEMs, under the leadership of their evil robotic queen Betty (Megan Fox), kill the entire population of the world except America.

One man stands between the only country that matters and complete robotic annihilation: General Mankins (Jason Statham), a hard-talking, chain-smoking soldier hoping to rid the world of the robotic menace so he can prove to his troops that he's incredibly manly. Gathering every weapon he can find (including eight chainsaws, to counter the seven of the SHEMs), Mankins must destroy ten years of scientific research in 48 hours!

Laughs a plenty are in store for the movie's younger viewers as well, as they delight in General Mankins' greatest challenge: dealing with Jack Black's wacky shenanigans. As Danson is the only one able to type the SHEMs' self-destruct codes, Mankins has to bring Danson along on his adventure...and keep him out of trouble. Viewers of all ages will enjoy Danson's comic relief scenes. The lovable scientist is truly one crazy character.

Start to mark your calendars, sci-fi fans: "But Whether Men Do" is scheduled for release on April 1, 2013.
